Windows Help File Error
Patches for Windows Vista, 7 and Server 2008
Microsoft changed settings and support files in the latest versions of Windows ® (Vista, Windows7 and Windows Server 2008) and some files in particular needed to run the Hallmark Directory (and other programs). When you run the Hallmark Directory you may get an error message that reads:
"Cannot display this Help file. Try opening the Help file again, and if you still get this message, copy the Help file to a different drive, and try again. (136)"
This error can be resolved by applying a patch that Microsoft have produced for the purpose. There are different versions of the patch depending on which version of Windows you are running, for Vista 32 bit and 64 bit, Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit, and Windows Server 2008 (and 2008 Release2). The patch or patches is to be installed on each user machine which accesses the Hallmark Directory across your network or if it has a standalone installation.
Because of Microsoft’s concerns over security they have also tightened up system protection settings which may restrict access to and the functioning of macros in the program – particularly those that run the links to web addresses and email addresses. The patches to deal with these issues are also available here, see below.
You can download the patches from Microsoft or, to make it easier for our customers, you can get the patches here by clicking on the appropriate link:
